Hello! I’m Samantha and I’m glad you are here!
I am a Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT). I worked in the public health care field for nearly 10 years, and I am extremely grateful to be starting this new chapter. I am originally from Newfoundland but I have lived in Nova Scotia for 15 years. If I am not in the office, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, travelling, or watching cooking shows.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where we can collaboratively work together to gain clarity, insight, healing, and change. I use an integrative approach, through a trauma informed lens, to help ensure that I am able to suit the unique needs of each individual. I also recognize how important relationships are to our overall wellbeing, and have completed training to help couples come together to enhance conflict related communication, focus on building a friendship, and uncover shared meaning in the relationship.
Additional Training:
Complex Trauma Certification Training Level 1 & 2
Grief Counselling and Treatment Certification Training
Gottman Couples Counselling
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) Level 1
